Energy Efficiency & Conservation Rebates


People’s Cooperative offers rebates to members who purchase and install energy efficient central air, heat pumps, Energy Star® appliances. Recycling rebates are available for refrigerators, freezers, and room air conditioner. CFL lighting and electric water heaters. Certain requirements do apply. All rebates, when approved, will be a credit applied to electric bill.

All Rebates:

  • Must be purchased, installed and/or recycled in 2010 (Jan. 1 - Dec. 31, 2010).
  • Rebates are in place through December 31, 2010 or until funds, by incentive or in total, are depleted.
  • Rebate application form and copy of your receipt must be submitted by Jan. 15, 2011. However, members are encouraged to submit rebate form and copy of receipt as soon as equipment is purchased and installed.

Residential Rebates

Central Air Conditioning & Heat Pumps (HVAC) - [Residential and Commercial]

  1. SEER and EER ratings must meet or exceed those specified below.
  2. Submit completed rebate for with copy of your invoice showing SEER or EER rating.
  • System Types:
    • Central Air Conditioning & Mini-Splits
      • SEER 14.0 - $40/Ton
      • SEER 15.0 - $60/Ton
      • SEER >= 16.0 - $80/Ton
    • Commercial AC and PTACs >=11.0 EER - $40/Ton
    • Commercial ASHP & PTHPs>11.0 EER - $120/Ton
    • Air-Source Heat Pump SEER>=14.0 - $120/Ton
    • Geothermal Heat Pump - $200/Ton

Energy Star® Appliances & Recycling

  1. Include a copy of Energy Star® label with completed rebate form and invoice/receipt.
  2. Visit www.energystar.gov to verify Energy Star® rating.
  • Dehumidifier, Freezer, Refrigerator, Room Air Conditioner, Dishwasher, and Clothes Washer
  • All $25 - applied as a credit on you bill
  1. Include recycling receipt showing unit was in working order when recycled for the following:
  • Recycled Freezer - $50
  • Recycled Refrigerator - $50
  • Recycled Room Air Conditioner - $25

Water Heaters (If purchased other than at cooperative.)

  1. Electric water heater must have energy factors (EF) indicated below.
  2. Must be controlled by cooperative's load control program.
  3. Rebate cannot exceed cost of purchase and installation.
  4. Submit completed rebate form with copy of your invoice/receipt showing the efficiency.
  • 80-99 Gallon - E.F. 0.90 or above - $125/Unit
  • 100+ Gallon+- E.F. 0.85 or above - $200/Unit
  • Heat Pump Water Heater - Load control not required - $300/Unit
  • Solar Storage Water Heaters w/Electric Back-Up - $300/Unit

Conservation

  • Flow Restrictors/Faucet - $1/Unit
  • Flow Restrictors/Shower - $5/Unit
  • Energy Saving Power Strip/Smart Strip - $5/Unit
  • Drain water Heat Recovery System - $50/Unit

Lighting - Residential & Commercial

  1. Submit completed rebate form and a copy of your invoice/receipt.
  2. Rebate not to exceed cost of lamp/bulb or unit.

  • T5 Fixtures - $7.50/Lamp/Fixture

Custom Rebates

  1. PLEASE NOTE: Commercial and agricultural customers that install certain types of energy saving equipment and/or incorporate energy efficiency measures may qualify for custom rebates. New and existing facilities are eligible. Please contact us for details.
  2. Fans must be AMCA or BESS Lab rated.
  3. Submit completed rebate form and a copy of your invoice/receipt.
  4. Rebate not to exceed cost of efficiency equipment.
  • Dairy Plate Cooler/Well Water Pre-Cooler - $500/Unit
  • High Efficiency Livestock Waterers (< or = 500 watts) $50/Waterer
  • Dairy Heat Recovery - with controlled electric water heater - $1/Gallon
  • Scroll Refrigeration Compressor - $30/HP
  • Variable Frequency Drives - $30/HP (max. $500/Drive)
  • Variable Speed Compressed Air - $30/HP (max. $500/Drive
  • High Velocity Low Speed Fan - $1 per inch diameter
  • Ventilation (Exhaust) Fan-21 CFM/Watt or more - $1 per inch diameter
  • Circulation Fan - 20 lbs. of thrust/kW or more - $1 per inch diameter
