A/C Cycled Air Program
Cycle your air conditioner and receive a $5 credit on your bill
If you participate in People's Cycled Air Conditioner Program, we will install a radio receiver that allows us to cycle your air conditioner on and off every 15 minutes during summer control periods.
This form of controlled service helps us to manage summer electricity demand much like off-peak heating programs help us during the winter. In return, you'll receive a $5 credit on your electric service statement each month from June through August.
**If enrolled by May 31st, 2011, receive a one time $25.00 credit on your electrical bill.**
Criteria:
- The air conditioner must be a central air system - not a window or wall unit.
- On days when homes and businesses are using a lot of electricity and purchasing wholesale electricity is more expensive, People's Cooperative will cycle your air conditioner condenser on and off in 15-minute increments. .
- Cooperative personnel will be given access to the load management equipment for maintenance and inspection purposes. All air conditioning units must have a shut-off switch located at the air conditioning unit.
- Radio receiver must be installed prior to receiving credit.
- Necessary load management equipment will be installed and maintained by a representative of the Cooperative.
- Your fan will continue to run.
- Interruptions usually occur only on the hottest days of the year when air conditioners must work harder to keep people comfortable.
