All members requesting electric service, who have not had electric service in their name with the Cooperative, will need to either show satisfactory credit through a credit bureau, provide the cooperative with an acceptable credit reference from a prior utility or pay a deposit. The deposit amount will be an average of two monthly payments using the billing history for the past year. The deposit will be applied to your account after you have paid your monthly bills on time, by the due date for 12 consecutive months. Interest earned on the deposit, as provided under MN Statutes, will be credited annually on the billing statement.
