Sales Tax Exemption Request
Electricity sold for residential use is not taxable for the billing months of November through April when sold to metered customers who use it as their primary (50% or more) source of residential heat. Some agricultural and industrial customers are eligible year round. Before an exemption can be made, we request that you file an exemption certificate with our office.
The form can be obtained by stopping in or calling or office, or can be downloaded below. Complete and sign the form and mail to our office at: People’s Cooperative Services, Sales Tax Exemption, PO Box 339, Rochester, MN 55903-0339.
