Operation Round Up® Guidelines
In 2002, People’s Cooperative Services implemented “Operation Round Up®”. The program designed to gather voluntary contributions from members to assist people or organizations in the communities served by People’s with charitable donations for community needs projects.
Program participation has grown from 1,180 accounts to currently over 14,500 accounts. Operation Round Up®, a voluntary program, allows People’s to roundup to the next whole dollar the electric bill of participating members. Monthly contributions on an individual account could be anywhere from one cent to nine-ninety cents. Small change making a big difference. These tax deductible funds are placed into a trust fund, governed by a separate Board of Trustees.
A Board of Trustees comprised of seven People’s Cooperative members provides oversight to the Operation Round Up® program. Program funds are held separately from People’s finances.
An increase in participation means an increase in contributions, amounting in more funding available.
Applications can be downloaded from our website or by calling Jeff Thompson, Operation Round Up® coordinator at (507) 288-4004.
