People's Energy Cooperative has available to area youths the opportunity to represent People's at the Minnesota Youth Leadership Conference in March.
This opportunity is open to all high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors within the six counties of People's Energy Cooperative electric service area.

Minnesota Youth Leadership Conference
Minnesota Youth Leadership Conference is a two-day conference designed to help high school students gain a better understanding of cooperatives and develop leadership and problem-solving skills. In addition to speakers and group activities, a real cooperative is formed and operated during the conference.
To be eligible, the student shall meet the following requirements:
- Student is currently a high school sophomore, junior or senior, and, his or her parent/guardian is a People's Energy Cooperative member. Dependents of People's Energy Cooperative employees and directors are not eligible to participate.
- Shall submit an application form that is filled out in full
- All students who fill out an application will have an equal chance to be selected as our contest winner. Only one student will be selected out of a random drawing. Drawing will be held February 7, 2012
In addition to the requirements, an application, available online or at the cooperative office shall be submitted. Deadline for submitting applications is February 6, 2012. Fax applications will not be accepted. A random drawing of eligible students will be conducted February 7, 2012 at the cooperative office. Winners will be notified by mail.
